SummaryBittergourd is an important cucurbit fruit vegetable grown in the tropics. It has rich nutritional and medicinal value. Hybrids are becoming popular in this crop. Gynoecy is also reported in this crop which could be a useful tool to exploit heterosis on commercial scale with more cheaper rates. But at present hybrid seed is produced by hand pollination without emasculation.
