Abstract

This document reports, (1) an overview of the biology and behavior of the humphead wrasse Cheilinus undulatus, bumphead parrotfish Bolbometopon muricatum, and scalloped hammerhead shark Sphyrna lewini; (2) the results from larval transport modeling to understand the connectivity of the two broadcast spawners (humphead wrasse and bumphead parrotfish); and the (3) resulting recommendations on monitoring techniques and key aspects of survey design for observing all three priority species at Wake Atoll.
