An open-research package for a pre-registered (PROSPERO) systematic review and random-effects meta-analysis of affect labeling — the psychological and neuroscientific phenomenon, originating in Lieberman et al. (2007), in which putting feelings into words attenuates emotional responses. Headline result. Pooled Hedges' g = −0.43 (95% CI −0.68, −0.18) for peripheral physiology across 9 effect sizes from 7 independent studies. Lab-stratified analysis: g = −0.74 within the UCLA Lieberman/Craske axis, g = −0.13 in independent labs. Contents. Full ~14,000-word manuscript, PROSPERO preregistration, PRISMA 2020 flow with structured per-stage counts, RoB 2 / ROBINS-I assessments, effect-size dataset, the derived screening corpus reconstructed from the pre-registered PubMed query, and Python code for byte-for-byte reproducibility of every numerical result and figure.
