A bstract Rasa Darpana is a consequential compiled text by the author Shri Bhajan Das Swami in the sphere of Indian alchemy ( Rasaśāstra ), offering insights into the principles, formulations, and therapeutic applications of mercury-based preparations ( Rasauṣadhi ). This work unfolds the knowledge of ancient alchemical traditions, emphasising the purification and potentiation of metals and minerals for medicinal use. The text serves as a mirror ( Darpaṇa ) reflecting the refined processes of Pārada Saṁskāra (purification and transformation of mercury), detailing various methods such as Śodhana, Māraṇa , and Saṁskāra of metals and minerals to enhance their therapeutic efficacy. In addition, Rasa Darpana discusses the role of mercurial and mineral formulations in treating chronic ailments, rejuvenation ( Rasāyana ), and enhancing longevity, aligning with Ayurvedic principles. It provides a systematic understanding of Rasa Cikitsā (alchemy-based treatment) and serves as a reliable reference for scholars and practitioners of Rasaśāstra. This compilation highlights the precise standardization techniques of ancient Indian alchemy, contributing to the integration of traditional wisdom.
