Limitations on the development of special education instructional materials are often imposed by financial and marketing considerations of the commercial producer, and by the lack of support and encouragement to the classroom theorizer and creator of materials. Some speculative types of instructional materials are discussed as well as the future role of the Instructional Materials Center for Handicapped Children and Youth in meeting this problem.
