The article examines the tools of economic analysis used to assess the competitiveness of ferrous metallurgy enterprises. The methods that allow a comprehensive study of both internal performance parameters and external market environment factors are highlighted. Special attention is paid to hierarchical and scoring approaches that combine quantitative and qualitative assessments. Practical applications of the methods are presented, including data from leading Russian companies in the sector. The importance of analyzing the quality of metal products as a strategic element of competitiveness is emphasized, especially under conditions of increasing global competition and technological transformation. The necessity of integrating consumer value assessment into economic analysis systems is established. A conclusion is made on the priority of a comprehensive approach based on the combination of financial, production, and client criteria for improving the sustainability of metallurgical enterprises in the long term.
