THIS article presents data dealing with the immediate and long-term prognosis of 1331 male employees of the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company who were stricken with a myocardial infarction. The data have been analyzed to answer the following questions: What are the chances of surviving the acute attack? What are the chances of surviving five years after recovery from the acute attack?
