The article presents a detailed analysis of the state of agriculture in the Krasnodar Territory, one of Russia's key agricultural regions, which contributes significantly to grain production and strengthens the country's food security. Current challenges in the sector are discussed, including soil degradation caused by erosion and insufficient land reclamation, climatic risks such as increasing droughts, and significant economic disparities between technologically advanced large agricultural holdings and small farms struggling with limited access to investments and innovations. Based on econometric analysis, key factors influencing labor productivity were identified, including the role of investments, the level of digitalization, and the volume of state support. The study proposes innovative development strategies, including the adoption of precision farming technologies, modernization of reclamation infrastructure, and diversification of agricultural production to enhance the sector’s sustainability, ecological and economic efficiency, and adaptability to climate challenges.
