The purpose ofCancer Journal, as stated by the editors, has been not to publish just another journal on cancer, but to respond to the important needs of a broader audience. The editors believe that these needs can best be met in "the forum of an interactive, peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal." The editors envisage this new journal as a publication that provides an integrated view of modern oncology, encourages research and reports on new modalities, and provides a place where research on "the interface between the laboratory and clinic is explored and furthered."
