In the present study, a modified semantic differential scale composed of 166 items and ranging over four concepts was administered to a representative university sample cutting across colleges, classes, and sex. The results were reduced to four 27 x 27 matrices and separately factor analyzed using Kaiser's varimax rotation. However, in the analysis of the fourth concept, a structure involving eight separate factors emerged, indicating the complexity involved in evaluation, assessment and attitudinal components of university students' concepts of the Professor. The study raises questions, primarily of a validational character, as to how the results of the present study would compare with studies at other similar universities.
