The measured rate coefficients (preexponential factors and activation energies) of the trapping-mediated, dissociative chemisorption of methane, ethane, and propane on Pt(110)-(1×2), and ethane on Ir(110)-(1×2) are reported and discussed. Moreover, the probabilities of primary and secondary C–H bond cleavage for propane activation on Pt(110)-(1×2) have been evaluated.
