The development of increasingly advanced technology provides challenges as well as new opportunities for character education, including the use of digital media, personalized learning, and edugames to support value internalization. Edugames (educational games) are an innovative approach that promotes engaging learning while fostering the internalization of character values. This article aims to analyze the trend of empirical studies on the use of educational games as tools for character education, in order to optimize learning outcomes and internalize values within the educational environment across various school levels. This study uses the systematic literature review method by collecting data from Google Scholar, ERIC (Education Resources Information Centre), and Science Direct. Based on reference sources, research results and research focus, as many as 25 articles have been obtained with a span of 2024–2026. The results of the systematic analysis of the review show that the use of edugames can have an impact on the formation of values, such as responsibility, cooperation, and empathy, while also enhancing academic learning outcomes. They demonstrate strong potential for character education in the digital era, provided they are supported by effective design and pedagogical integration.
