This report compiles lessons learned from the practical implementation of five pilots conducted within the Horizon Europe funded PIISA project (Piloting Innovative Insurance Solutions for Adaptation). PIISA aimed to reduce Europe’s climate adaptation gap by developing and testing innovative insurance and risk sharing solutions that shift insurance from a reactive, compensatory mechanism toward a proactive driver of climate adaptation.
