One of the major tasks facing any relief agency is the management of the large scale distribution of food stocks. Such a distribution involves the scheduling of a large number of trucks, arranging fuel distribution, loading arrangements etc. In a previous paper, we suggested a micro‐computer based system for use in the field by emergency relief managers for scheduling this distribution. The system was to be based on a mixture of O.R. and knowledge‐based inference techniques. In this paper we describe the progress so far in implementing this proposed solution.
