The computer simulation of staged tests performed on the Northwestern Region of the Ontario Hydro system is discussed. Information regarding the staged tests, and subsequent duplication of the test results using a transient stability program is presented. The results of the tests and simulations indicate that accurate modelling of system loads is important, and that further work to determine appropriate load models is required.
