Police misconduct is a source of great scholarship in these modern times. Due to what is seen on television and personal emotions, a decision was made to pursue a project to take the perspectives of black students from an elite university and police officers from a large, midwestern city. Gaining the perspectives of black students and police officers about controversial cases of police misconduct and the interconnected parts of this issue became the overall objective of this paper. The materials used for this paper will be Zoom and Otter.ai software. All research methodologies are qualitative. A total of fourteen persons were interviewed for this paper; three of these individuals are either police officers or former police officers. The interviews were semi-structured, and the participants were told that the interviews would last between 30 and 40 minutes in duration. In this paper, most of the opinions were the same, but there were differing opinions in the messaging of radical movements and a specific legal doctrine. For that reason, sentiments of hope became the common feeling or experience after the interviews.
