The psychiatric and medical care of female veterans is reviewed in this report of 69 interviews at a veterans psychiatric facility. The data suggest that female veterans are satisfied with care in general but are less satisfied with certain gender-related components of care. The author reviews the facility's responses to the findings of the study and makes further suggestions for change. The rising proportion of women in the armed forces makes health care for this group an important issue.
