The Archaeological Monitoring comprised the observation of all intrusive groundwork in the form of geo-technical trial pits, boreholes and a window sample. Non-archaeologically significant deposits were removed by the construction sub-contractor under archaeological supervision. All archaeological deposits encountered were recorded, which included as a minimum: the recording of individual contexts on appropriate pro-formas; section drawings of appropriate deposits (at 1:20 or 1:10 scales, as deemed commensurate with the subject); photographs and other appropriate drawn and written records. Survey data for the location and extent of the geo-technical trial pits, boreholes and window sample were supplied by EK, the construction sub-contractor. A total of six trial pits, two cable percussion boreholes and one window sample for geological testing were monitored which encompassed c.21m2. No features or finds were observed.
