The rapid growth of digital technologies has significantly transformed the way businesses operate, particularly in the field of electronic commerce. E-commerce platforms enable consumers to perform online shopping, digital payments, and various financial transactions with convenience and speed. However, the increasing reliance on digital transactions has also created serious cybersecurity concerns. Online platforms store and process sensitive information such as personal data, login credentials, and payment details, which makes them attractive targets for cybercriminals. As a result, issues such as phishing attacks, malware infections, data breaches, identity theft, and payment fraud have become major challenges for e-commerce systems. This paper aims to examine the major cybersecurity issues associated with modern e-commerce platforms and their impact on digital transactions. The study focuses on identifying common threats that compromise the security and privacy of users as well as the reliability of online business operations. It also highlights the importance of implementing effective cybersecurity measures such as encryption techniques, secure payment gateways, multifactor authentication, and network security mechanisms to reduce potential risks. The research is based on a descriptive approach using secondary data collected from research articles, industry reports, and online sources related to cybersecurity and digital commerce. The study emphasizes that strengthening security practices and increasing user awareness are essential for building trust in online transactions. Ensuring strong cybersecurity frameworks will play a crucial role in protecting digital transactions and supporting the sustainable growth of modern e-commerce systems.
