The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted India’s Blue Economy, revealing vulnerabilities in marine industries such as fisheries, tourism, transport, and energy, and exacerbating existing coastal challenges. This perspective examines the multifaceted impacts of the pandemic on India’s Blue Economy, focusing on economic, ecological, and social dimensions. It suggests an integrated, multi-sectoral governance approach to foster post-pandemic resilience and sustainability. The study recommends adopting inclusive, climate-resilient, and ecosystem-based marine resource management, proposing enhanced cross-sector collaboration, data transparency, strengthened coastal governance, and community participation in future strategies and crisis management.
