This presentation was given in the Electronic Lab Notebooks breakout session at the INF-projects in CRCs meet-up 2026 (online), 10 June 2026. It covers practical strategies for customising eLabFTW for a life sciences research team, based on experience developing a template and entry package for SFB 1638 / CRC 1638 at the Biochemistry Centre (BZH), Heidelberg University. Topics include template construction principles (structured bodies, controlled-vocabulary extra fields, parent-child resource linking), navigation and search design, an ISA-inspired approach to organising research streams, and the elAPI Plugins tool developed within the team for batch entry management. The talk was followed by a discussion session, "Discussion: ELNs in INF projects," also chaired by Dr. Neele Drobnitzky. The presentation was given at the INF-projects in CRCs meet-up 2026 (online), 10 June 2026.
