Access to justice remains a major challenge for millions of citizens, especially those from rural and economically disadvantaged communities. Complex legal language, limited awareness of rights, and dependence on intermediaries often prevent individuals from engaging effectively with the justice system. This project proposes an AI Courtroom Assistant, a multilingual, AI-driven platform designed to simplify legal processes and improve justice accessibility. The system enables users to upload FIRs, court notices, or legal documents, which are then automatically analyzed and summarized in simple language. It provides a chatbot-based interface for resolving legal queries, intelligently classifies user issues, and offers guidance on rights, legal procedures, and relevant government schemes. Additionally, the assistant can auto-generate essential documents such as petitions, FIR drafts, and complaints through user-friendly forms. A built-in complaint management module allows users to register, track, and manage their cases efficiently. By combining natural language processing, legal knowledge databases, and recommendation systems, the AI Courtroom Assistant aims to empower citizens, reduce exploitation by middlemen, and support faster engagement with legal institutions, thereby contributing to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
