In September 2019, a trial excavation was conducted on Shamai Street in El‘ad (Permit No. A-8589; map ref. 195508–50/661718–73; Fig. 1), in the eastern part of the archaeological park, prior to the construction of a parking lot. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by E. Zwiebel, with the assistance of Y. Agmon (area supervising, photography and pottery reading in the field), Y. Amrani and E. Bachar (administration), I. Jonish (surveying and photography), M. Kunin (drafting), S. Krispin (metal detection and assistant excavation director), Y. Tepper (guidance) and A. ‘Azab ( district archaeologist) .
