The Arctic region is rapidly becoming a strategic hub in global geopolitics due to climate-induced change, emerging maritime routes, and competition for critical natural resources. Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, has drawn considerable attention from major powers, particularly the United States, due to its geographic location, military significance, and mineral potential. This paper analyses the recent US initiatives in Greenland and draws lessons for India's evolving Arctic policy. India's growing scientific, economic, and strategic interests in the Arctic require thoughtful policy innovation to engage global governance structures, enhance maritime capabilities, and integrate climate concerns into its foreign policy. The study employs qualitative methods, drawing on secondary data from scholarly, policy, and media sources to argue that India can benefit from understanding US strategic behaviour in Greenland to strengthen its own Arctic engagement and global positioning.
