Information and communication technology (ICT) is changing the nature of job in all aspects of librarianship particularly those who are working in academic institution. The challenges that face academic librarians are listed through various literatures which were studied in the light of personality factors and job satisfaction. New generation users’ attitude is different from earlier generation and they visit library for information need which they are not finding in the internet. In this scenario academic librarian can play important role to satisfy their information need. As information on the web is more freely accessible librarians can provide better service by using their searching skills. Attending different training programmes, seminars, conferences as well as participating several short or long term courses, and continuous education is the key factor to develop their ever changing professional skill.
