We present a genome assembly from a juvenile female Carassius carassius (crucian carp; Chordata; Actinopteri; Cypriniformes; Cyprinidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 1 684.30 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.41%) is scaffolded into 50 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.6 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 39 044 protein-coding genes.
