Those responsible for shaping Greek educational policy must incorporate into their efforts to increase teachers’ job performance the implementation of motivational processes for the most important asset of education: its workforce. This pursuit is deemed essential, especially nowadays, when the negative effects of economic recession and the dominance of a utilitarian logic focused on cost reduction by any means make the motivation of employees a rare, if not non-existent, effort by the leadership of public and private organizations. The aim of the research presented in this article was to investigate the effectiveness of motivational processes among employees in primary and secondary education school units in the regions of Achaia, Ilia, Phocis, the Dodecanese, and the Cyclades. Additionally, the study sought to record teachers' views on the impact of the economic crisis on the education sector. A structured questionnaire was used for the purpose of the research, and data processing was conducted using SPSS software.
