The article examines constraints tied to language and speech as they emerged in conversation among four multilingual individuals at the University of Luxembourg. Encounters involved Landing from Senegal, Nia from Colombia, Gog from Armenia and Gabi from Germany, authors of this text, learning about the ecological crisis in Eloubalire, Landing's home community. Examining the barriers we faced, the paper addresses issues of representationalism, epistemic violence and the coloniality of language. We explore how creating in a socio-material assemblage using stop motion animation and reflecting on this process together can help navigating these barriers and foster a disposition towards decolonial conversations.
