The article investigates and highlights the problematic situation in the activities of the headquarters of the military administration of the security forces, which arises in the course of planning and during search operations in populated points. It was emphasized that during the de-occupation of the territories of Ukraine and in the post-war period, one of the tasks of the security forces will be the task of searching for armed criminals in populated areas. An analysis of the existing methods of conducting the search, possible battle orders, which are used at the same time, was carried out. It was established that the use of existing methods of search and their inherent battle orders becomes impossible in the conditions of settlements due to their network structure and a certain density of buildings. It is proposed to carry out search operations in the settlement by search groups, the totality of which will represent a certain multi-agent system. The movement routes of each agent are pre-optimized and collectively allow to achieve the goal of the operation of such a system ‒ to find armed criminals. Based on tactical considerations, certain requirements for routing search groups and corresponding principles are formulated.
