In February 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted in neighborhood C2 at Ramat Bet Shemesh (Permit No. A-7049; map ref. 199991/623291; Fig. 1) prior to road construction. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, was directed by R. Lavi (field photography), with the assistance of A. Melman (assistant excavation director), N. Nehama (administration) and S. Gendler (liaison with the developer), as well as A. Hajian and M. Kalman (surveying and plans).
