Life care planning has long been recognized as a tool to identify damages within personal injury cases. While the author recognizes that life care planning is of value in many venues, the focus of this article is medical foundation for expert testimony in personal injury cases. As court decisions and federal rules have refined the definition and parameters for expert testimony, the requirements for laying a foundation have changed as well. This perspective provides various options for the development of appropriate foundation for recommendations within a life care plan.
