In this paper we are reporting 3 cases of nosocomial pneumonia caused by Elizabethkingia meningoseptica. All of them were in our intensive care unit, intubated and under mechanical ventilation. Two of 3 cases were diagnosed approximately 1 month from the first index case of E. meningoseptica infection. E. meningoseptica were isolated from blood and endotracheal aspirate cultures of the patients. Bacteriological samples were collected from water, medical devices and hands of personnel to identify the source of the bacterium. No source was found. But, antibiotic susceptibility results were identical in all 3 isolates. Despite early diagnosis and prompt antibiotic treatment only one case survived and others died after 5 to 10 days. Surveillance and further research are needed to optimize management and control of E. meningoseptica infections.
