Lexical Means of Expressing Affection in English and Uzbek

This thesis shows how speakers of English and Uzbek express affection through language. It explains the use of affectionate vocabulary, including words of endearment, idiomatic expressions, phrases, and forms of address, which are essential in conveying emotions and maintaining interpersonal relationships. These highlight the ways culture, social norms, and pragmatic factors influence the choice and use of affectionate expressions in different contexts.
