In the dynamic software development industry, employee skills and competencies plays a crucial role in achieving organizational success. Competency mapping is a structured approach that identifies the knowledge, skills, and behavioural attributes required for effective job performance. This study examines the impact of employee competency mapping on work performance within a software development organization. The research analyses how aligning employee competencies with job requirements influences productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. By identifying skills gaps supporting focused training initiatives, competency mapping helps enhance employee effectiveness and job satisfaction. Data collected from employee across various department were analysed to understand the relationship between competency levels and performance outcomes. This study highlights the importance of adopting competency based practices to strengthen workforce capability and achieve sustainable growth.
