Assessment of the impact of proposed works on nearby heritage assets. The proposed building will be experienced against a backdrop of other sympathetically designed modern buildings. Burr House is the closest listed building to the proposed development however the part of Burr House that is located closest is entirely of modern construction. It is considered that the proposal is in keeping with the other modern buildings around Shiplake College and there will be little impact to any heritage assets in the vicinity. The proposed building will be a positive addition in that it will replace a modern building that is a detractor to the significance of the nearby heritage assets and to the visual appeal of this part of the college grounds.
