This review uncovers the links between cerebrovascular diseases and diabetic polyneuropathy, highlighting the need for targeted treatments.
Changes in cerebrometabolic health under the influence of risk factors are realized by the development of vascular disorders, structural and functional disorders of the nervous system. The mutual aggravation of cerebrovascular diseases (CVD), polyneuritic and metabolic disorders leads to the accumulation of pathology. The increasing incidence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and its complications, in particular diabetic pain polyneuropathy (DPN), in combination with CVD require a personalized approach to the management of such patients and determine the choice of targeted drugs with proven efficacy and safety. The article provides an overview of current research on the problem of vascular pathology of the brain and damage to the peripheral nervous system in DM, as well as their own experience in treating patients.
