Composite coagulant shows 90.7% removal of Fe 3+ and 85.5% of Cu 2+ in wastewater, indicating effective flocculation.
In this study, the preparation and coagulation performance of the novel composite coagulant Fe 3 O 4 @C=C-CS-g-P(AM-IA-AMPS) were investigated. Fe 3 O 4 @C=C and CS-g-P(AM-IA-AMPS) was prepared with UV photon as the initiator to the reaction. The optimal synthetic conditions were ultraviolet light power of 200W, initiator concentration of 0.8 mmol/L, molar ratio of n(AM+IA+AMPS)∶n(CS) of 1.6, and pH value of 4.0. The maximum Fe 3+ and Cu 2+ removal efficiency could reach 90.7%, 85.5%, respectively.
