Doping with ZnWO4/In enhances optical properties in PVC/PEG blends, indicating potential for flexible electronic devices.
The impact of doping on the structure, morphology, and linear/nonlinear optical and fluorescence features of PVC/PEG/ZnWO4/In was investigated. The absorbance of the PVC/PEG sample amplified upon doping with nano ZnWO4/In. The lowest (direct and indirect) energy gap values were obtained (3.83 and 3.39 eV) when the content of filler approached 8 wt%. At 500 nm, the sample containing 4 wt% ZnWO4/In exhibited the maximum refractive index value. The optical dispersion parameters for blended polymers were determined using Wemple and DiDomenico model. The Eo value of PVC/PEG is less than that of the other samples while Ed decreases when PVC/PEG is infused with ZnWO4/In. The static refractive index value was increased from 2.22 for x = 0 to 2.84 for the sample filled with 8 wt% ZnWO4/In. All of the nonlinear optical parameters in the infused blended polymer exhibited the highest values in the visible spectrum, but the opposite occurred in the UV spectrum. Several models were utilized also to calculate the refractive index of each sample based on the direct and indirect optical band gaps. The incorporation of 2 wt% ZnWO4/In into the PVC/PEG blend initially resulted in a modest rise in fluorescence intensity. Additional doping diminished the fluorescence intensity.
