Exploration of 3D printing benefits for supramalleolar orthoses in young children, suggesting environmental and patient care improvements.
The study aims to explore the use of lower limb supramalleolar orthoses in children aged 3 to 5 years, with an emphasis on production through modeling and 3D printing. The manufacturing of customized orthoses using 3D printing offers significant environmental advantages, such as minimal waste production, reduced reliance on manual labor, increased customization capacity, and faster manufacturing. These factors enable the creation of models that are suitable and sustainable for each patient's individual needs. The main objective of this study is to highlight the benefits of 3D printing in the production of ankle-foot supramalleolar orthoses, both for the environment and for improving the quality of life of patients with orthopedic needs.
