Analysis reveals increasing focus on corporate entrepreneurship performance in Korea, highlighting the impact of venture capital.
The purpose of this study is to identify the core concepts and research trends in corporate entrepreneurship (CE) through keyword network analysis. To achieve this, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of CE-related articles published in domestic academic journals, including general publication trends, author and keyword frequency analysis, and network analysis. A total of 172 articles published between 2003 and 2024 in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) were selected as the analysis target, and network analysis was performed using Gephi 0.10. The results indicate that CE research in Korea has steadily increased since the first publication in 2003, with a predominant focus on quantitative methodologies such as regression analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM). Key researchers, including Tae-Kyung Park and Byung-Seop Yoon, were found to be central figures within the research network. The keywords CE, Performance, CVC, and CV consistently exhibited high influence, highlighting that research on corporate ventures, venture performance, and corporate venture capital forms the core stream of CE studies in Korea. This study is distinct in that it analyzes research trends over the entire period, including the post-2016 surge in CE research, and classifies the research phases based on significant environmental changes to examine the relationships and characteristics of research topics by period. Despite limitations regarding the scope of article collection, keyword extraction and refinement methods, and the lack of citation index consideration, this study provides valuable insights. Future research that addresses these limitations and includes comparative analysis with international trends is expected to further advance the knowledge structure of CE research in Korea.
