Molecular identification verifies genetic resources in Anoectochilus roxburghii, suggesting efficient conservation strategies.
The Anoectochilus roxburghii (Wall.) Wall. ex Lindl. 1840 plants have been over-exploiting and recording in the Red Data Book of Vietnam. In this article, we present the identification results of this species collected in Luang Namtha province of Laos using the DNA barcode method to provide information about barcodes for the identification, exploitation and conservation of their genetic resources. The analysis data shows the matK gene and ITS region isolated from Anoectochilus roxburghii (Wall.) Wall. ex Lindl. 1840 plants have a base length of 900 bp and 500 bp, respectively. The BLAST analysis of the matK gene and ITS region obtained in this study have the highest similarity, 100% and 98,39%, respectively, to Anoectochilus roxburghii and Anoectochilus burmannicus species in the Genebank. Each sequence has 15 changing nucleotide positions. The results of molecular phylogenetic analysis of the matK gene by maximum likelihood method showed that the ITS sequence is suggested for better phylogenetic resolution than matK region and the combination of matK gene and ITS region can be used to identify the Anoectochilus roxburghii (Wall.) Wall. ex Lindl. 1840 plants species
