Assessment shows high digestibility coefficients for mealworm flour in catfish, suggesting it as a nutritious food source.
This study determined the digestibility coefficient (ADC) of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), fat (F), organic matter (OM), and mineral matter (MM the larval flour of defatted yellow mealworm (Tenebrio molitor) in catfish (Rhamdia quelen). The defatted meal from Tenebrio molitor larvae had a high ADC (>70%). The results showed that defatted Tenebrio molitor flour is a viable protein source in catfish diet owing to the high digestibility and fish acceptance of its ingredients.
