Experimental analysis shows improved PV efficiency using nano coating in desert conditions, indicating better performance in dust-prone areas.
This paper presents an experimental study on the impact of dust on the performance of photovoltaic (PV) coated with nanoparticle-based detergents and wax materials in a desert environment (Najaf, Iraq: 32°01’44” N 44°20’23” E). The study was conducted outdoors during in November and December under varying weather conditions (including rain and dust), using four models: PV only, PV with nanoceramics, PV with nano-wax detergent, and PV nano detergents. Performance analysis was conducted using a PV analyzer to analyze the effect of dust on the performance of PV, with cleaning every ten days. Results indicated a decline in PV efficiency due to dust accumulation, with voltage, current, and power chart showed a decline in PV efficiency, in contrast to other models, which displayed a higher reduction ratio of 10.84 %, the nano-wax detergent model demonstrated an efficiency reduction ratio due to dust of 7.69 %. These results demonstrate how well the nano-wax detergent coating preserves PV performance in dusty environments.
