Simulation reveals effects of cooling on temperature distribution in oil-immersed transformers, indicating improved heat management.
This research investigates the heat dissipation phenomena in pumped storage transformers. It examines the thermal conduction between windings and iron cores. Additionally, it looks into the convective heat exchange among windings, iron cores, and transformer oil. It also analyzes the radiative heat transfer between the oil tank and the surrounding air. These analyses are used to form a transformer temperature field model. The heat losses computed for the iron core and windings are incorporated into this model as heat sources. This allows for calculating the temperature and flow field distribution of the iron core and windings within an oil-immersed transformer operating at its rated conditions. Furthermore, the study examines how a water cooling system affects the temperature rise and winding temperature distribution in pumped storage transformers.
