Novel direct vector control improves stability and control precision in permanent magnet synchronous motors, suggesting reduced complexity.
This paper presents a novel direct vector control (DVC) strategy for addressing control challenges in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) by regulating the Active current (i P ) and Reactive current (i Q ) current components directly, without the need for complex coordinate transformations as in conventional field-oriented control (FOC). This method simplifies the control model by reducing reliance on motor parameters while maintaining a similar physical interpretation to the traditional i d -i q method, thereby enhancing dynamic response accuracy. The study includes a theoretical analysis and the development of a Simulink simulation model to assess system performance under no-load and loaded conditions. Simulation results indicate that the proposed DVC strategy surpasses conventional FOC in terms of control precision and stability, demonstrating superior disturbance rejection capabilities that effectively mitigate speed fluctuations and enable prompt return to the reference value. This research offers a promising solution for achieving high-performance PMSM control, with significant implications for engineering applications.
