This analysis demonstrates fixed-time synchronization in quaternion-valued BAM neural networks, suggesting new methods for handling impulsive effects.
Abstract This paper presents a comprehensive study on the analysis and synchronization of Quaternion-valued Bidirectional Associative Memory (QBAM) neural networks. Departing from previous separate analysis methods, it adopts a direct analytical approach based on the quaternion-valued sign function and its associated properties. To clarify the comprehensive impact of impulsive and random phenomena on synchronization behavior, this paper pioneers an investigation into the fixed/preassigned-time synchronization of QBAM neural networks with randomness and impulses. Additionally, it challenges the assumption in existing literature that activation functions must be continuous by employing discontinuous activation functions. Finally, theoretical analysis and numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control protocol in achieving synchronization under impulsive and random effects.
