Photoinduced copper catalyzed C(sp2)P bond formation in diphenylphosphine and aryl iodides suggests efficient synthesis methods.
A photoinduced copper‐catalyzed coupling of diphenylphosphine with aryl halides is reported. This efficient C(sp 2 )P bond formation is realized by blue LED irradiation of a copper(I) catalyst at room temperature with no additional ligand. A variety of sterically demanding and functionalized substrates are applied under mild reaction conditions to provide the corresponding triarylphosphines in moderate to good yields.
