This approach improves energy storage economic benefits while minimizing curtailed energy in the market.
To address the challenges of wind and solar curtailment from renewable energy grid integration, this paper studies the optimal dispatch of energy storage stations (ESS) in the electricity spot market. A dual-objective optimization strategy is proposed, balancing economic profit with minimized curtailed energy. This strategy first constructs an ESS operational model and formulates single dispatch schemes for maximum profit and minimum curtailed energy. Subsequently, considering ESS participation in spot market trading, a dual-objective optimization model is established by introducing a penalty function. A case study based on a typical winter day in a Shandong region demonstrates that the proposed dual-objective strategy effectively enhances ESS economic benefits and promotes renewable energy consumption.
