Research demonstrates optimization of solar water heating efficiency, suggesting improvements in thermal fluid flow.
Solar radiation is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and sustainable energy source. Solar water heating (SWH) technology has a long history and is now widely applied in life and industry. This research investigates the optimization scheme of the solar water heating system. This study assumes a basic solar water heating system and uses MATLAB software to construct a mathematical simulation model. In the model, each parameter is altered individually with other variables kept constant to observe the maximum temperature attainable by the system. Studies have found that reducing the flow rate of the thermal fluid through the solar collector, minimizing the volume of fluid in the storage tank, and decreasing the water flow rate in the coil can all enhance system efficiency. This study provides some optimisation suggestions for the solar water heating system and proposes some directions for its future development.
