Research reveals the impact of pulsed magnetic fields on plasma dynamics in a low pressure diode, highlighting stabilization conditions.
This paper investigates the effect of a strong pulsed magnetic field on the primary plasma dynamics and the formation conditions of a high-current discharge stage in a low pressure plasma diode. A magnitude estimate of the external magnetic field sufficient to stabilize the plasma cord in the space near the high-voltage electrode has been made. The dependences of the transition time of the primary plasma of the discharge gap on the external magnetic field strength and the stored energy in the capacitor bank under different initial conditions have been presented.
